Getting ready for the Holidays and my first rejection

Only four more days till Christmas. The kids are so excited they didn't even grumble about going to school this morning. My husband's family are coming to spend the holiday with us. His brother arrived Wednesday. His mother buses in on Saturday.

She is a wonderful woman, I haven't had the stereotypical combative relationship with her, and I'm grateful. My husband is as busy as a bee getting everything ready. He wants to impress her with all that he's done to the house.

I haven't had time to work on my second book much in the past couple weeks, (still untitled) and while surrounded with family I don't see it happening. I guess I can take a week off. It feels so unnatural.

I received my first rejection, from an e-publisher. It wasn't very bad at all. It's not for us but it's very good so keep trying. I figure that's high praise. I sent a synopsis to several agents as well. I am hoping one of them may show an interest. I do have it out to another e-publisher, so we'll see where it gets accepted first.

I'm giddy over the opportunity to be the first to leave a comment! I love your blog. It's cool that you're taking a week off from writing over the holiday. I know what you mean about it feeling unnatural! I just know you'll sell Creatures of the Moon, and I simply can't wait to read your next book! I can't for you to become famous so I can say I knew you when... **Laura Kitchell 12-22-07
