I’ve been told that you can find ideas for characters everywhere. Television, movies, other books. None are as interesting as those you meet in real life. The longer I pay attention to people, the more I realize there are some things you just can’t make up.
I took the last week off so to spend time with my family over the holidays, focus on them. And found little quirks that I’ve never noticed before, begging to be immortalized in story. I wont share what they are to protect the innocent.
Although I’ve taken a break, something in me continues to gather ideas, even from the most usual of places.
Happy new year!!

Getting ready for the Holidays and my first rejection
Only four more days till Christmas. The kids are so excited they didn't even grumble about going to school this morning. My husband's family are coming to spend the holiday with us. His brother arrived Wednesday. His mother buses in on Saturday.
She is a wonderful woman, I haven't had the stereotypical combative relationship with her, and I'm grateful. My husband is as busy as a bee getting everything ready. He wants to impress her with all that he's done to the house.
I haven't had time to work on my second book much in the past couple weeks, (still untitled) and while surrounded with family I don't see it happening. I guess I can take a week off. It feels so unnatural.
I received my first rejection, from an e-publisher. It wasn't very bad at all. It's not for us but it's very good so keep trying. I figure that's high praise. I sent a synopsis to several agents as well. I am hoping one of them may show an interest. I do have it out to another e-publisher, so we'll see where it gets accepted first.

Welcome
Welcome to my blog.
I am a writer. Having finished writing my first novel three months ago, I feel as though I can finally make that proclamation. I've submitted it to several e-publishers and agents, and will keep you posted on what happens with them. I will also comment about how the writing of my next novel is going. I also plan on using this blog as an outlet for my views and opinions.
Have a great day!
